Xbox One - Transferring data between profiles?

Recommended Posts

Is this possible?

Scenario: My son has been using my profile rather than his (long story) to play his favourite game, and amassed a load of achievements and in-game extras. He doesn't want to have to do it all again / I don't want to pay to get everything for him under his own profile.

I don't want to just give him my profile and rename it for the same reason that I'd lose all my stuff. We have two Xbones, so it's only really a problem when we want to play at the same time - surprising how often that is during the holidays!!

Anything I can do, or is it just a lesson learned?

Unfortunately, no. Saves are tied to your gamertag.

That means, you can transfer file saves but you can only access them under the same gamertag.

There was a way on x360, but on Xbox one it is not possible.

And that sucks. On ps2 you could just bring your memory card to a friend in your pocket.

That was 15 years ago.

Microsoft will never officially allow feature like this, to prevent cheating and/or exploits (pirating games)

With that feature enabled, Xbox one protection would be gone via save game exploits like

virginity on wedding night.
