How come people say the bible is the word of god? He didn't write it. Some bloke who was hearing voices wrote it and at best it's his interpretation of what he heard. As people are fallible then surely the bible is??
Some bloke? ha ha, ok which bloke is that then - you'll have to expand since sections of the Bible were written hundreds of years apart.
If you amend his claim to read that any given section of the Bible was written by "some bloke," then it stands... you can still argue about whether or not it was divinely inspired.
On the other hand, anyone who turns up nowadays and claims to be divinely inspired, usually ends up in Broadmoor.
The Bible is the story of the love affair between human beings and God. Some people wrote their account in poetry, others as history or fiction. No one part of it tells the whole story. None of it is raw narrative. It's all totally subjective. For some people it represents the closest we'll ever get to understanding God. For others it's pure wishful thinking. Deal with it.

What would you call a 'love affair' in which one party tells the other that they'll be punished if they don't worship them? How about a 'love affair' where one party had nearly killed the other several times in the past? Where that same party has previously ordered genocide, murder, rape.....
If the bible were true, and is the record of a 'love affair', it's an affair built on fear, not love.

All religion is organised fraud. It sells certainy in an uncertain world to those feeble minded enough to fall for its selling techniques.
And billions still do. Which says more about us as a race than anything else ever can.
