It may take some time to redevelop it because its been empty for a long time. Its going to be a pub/club with a dance floor, should be good, as long as its got good security on the door to keep the muppets out, which will have. Not sure if the name of the place is changing, Im presuming it will be.

So do we know when the reopening is ?
Lets have a teaser ......
Open s in 3 weeks and yes iv been told it will b a Gay bar upstairs and night club down stairs and they r try in to get Boy George to either open the bar or play there
still does not have a premises licence though according to my contact at the Council.....it takes considerably longer than 3 weeks to get one of these!

It's gonna cost someone a royal fortune - the place is just a shell inside, absolutely everything about it needs doing. A huge endeavour in today's climate - someone must be stupidly rich or just stupid....

merely stupid I guess.....to claim it is opening in 3 weeks without a premises licence is sheer insanity..my contact at the Council claims she has no knowledge of even an application for such a licence, let alone a date for the Licensing Board to meet to consider its merits..
I still portend that this is a huge wind up....wont be the first time on this forum.
I can think of no instance when a pub that has been closed for around 10 years has ever opened its doors again....

Not a wind up. Definitely ex affinity owner is opening it.

Nope, there is a chandelier!!! On here ages ago, the guys who had affinity were going on about opening the mulberry as a gay venue (bar/nightclub/etc), but affinity closed very very suddenly a month or two back... Talk of debts, staff being unaware that it was closing and what not amongst those who knock about along campo lane... Not sure what full story is there, but it certainly seems to be shaping up re the old Mulberry... Crap location though!
So what is the truth about Mulberry / Affinity2 ? I know staff were being recruited. And presume work is continuing inside, boy george booked ( so presume an opening date fixed ?) But no licence...
Dont understand why we cant get to the truth of all this !

I still think this is an elaborate wind up.........it has happened oft on this forum. Pubs that have been closed for 10 years simply NEVER open again....
Ok if it was still open and trading and had never shut, thats a diff matter.....but having been attracting spiders, rats and pigeons for a decade?
and whenever I walk past, there is zero sign of life, it remains as it was 10 years ago, locked up and derelict. In fact I am very surpirsed it has not been entered and posted up on urban Exploration sites, its a prime site for that.....

The venue is indeed being reopened by the previous manager of Affinity on Campo Lane, which died a very horrible death. It was run into the ground. However there seems to be a lot of speculation on when its actually opening. Its interesting to read that apparently they don't have a license for the building yet. I've been told by someone who has seen inside however that work is well underway.

No idea if it's opening again or not, but I have seen people going in and out of the front entrance a few times lately, which makes me think that work is being carried out inside.
