Although fitting them while the re-roof is been done is the easiest by far.  If you do decide to fit them before or after a re-roof all the work can be done from the inside the loft. If you're doing it that way you are obviously best (and with Velux Brand you have to) to take the glass out. However Keylite are designed to be fitted as 1 unit, the brackets just flip up. Â Unless your fitting the very narrow ones you'll need to cut the roof timbers. Don't forget you will need building control sign off not only for the re roof but also for the velux window installation. You need to double up the roof timbers either side of the new Windows also.
