Hogg   10 #13 Posted July 17, 2016 Greystones area if you can afford it - very near good dog walking and very safe. Also walkable to Sheffield University (30 mins) If you can't afford Greystones/Endcliffe. Sharrow is cheaper and nearish to the park - its quite a diverse and lively area. Otherewise - Crookes, Broomhill and Walkley are all good areas near the University but with less in the dog walking department. Cyclone   10 #16 Posted July 24, 2016 5 miles from the city centre is a huge area. Out to Worral/Grenoside/Chapeltow, practically to Rotherham, out as far as Mosborough, nearly to Coal Aston.  And depending on which direction you go the journey time could be 15 to 45 minutes in traffic, by car.  Transport to the uni and budget need to help determine the location you're looking at, and whether you want to be close to other students (mostly not mature).
