Do not remove a cat from its area without you have checked if the cat is owned , One of my cat customers had her cat removed from a neighbours garden and taken into rescue when he had a home !! why not pop notices around saying is this your cat ? I did that locally when we had a long term visitor we soon found his owners

Better still, attach a paper collar, with your number on, if the collar is still on in a weeks time, you can be pretty certain, he doesn't have a home. Hope that helps.

Yes, I've had 3 cats who were/are serial visitors to other people's houses and businesses, and all of them had a loving and caring home who were feeding them well and looking after their vet and emotional needs too. The visiting is/was a choice made by the cat to go and socialise with other people. All of the people who are/were on my cat's socialising routine are aware that they have/had a home where they get plenty of good food, so nobody else feeds them and are just happy to have a cuddle and play. 2 of these cats are no longer with us, sadly, but their tradition is carried on by Isaac, who breaks into other people's houses through upstairs windows and whose visiting is more likely to be a sort of occupation by a hostile force than a happy social event :)

Even my feral boy Al has been caught up in a 'does he have a home?' query, which I found out entirely by chance because he has very unusual marking. I found out from a friend of a friend, who just happened to mention that a very unusual coloured cat was seen with her cats so she was feeding him to see if he would come closer. She was hoping to get him close enough to take to a rescue to get him a forever home, but I could tell her immediately that a) he already has a home, and b) he has only voluntarily allowed one human to touch him in his whole life, and that person is me, so she'd have zero chance of getting him into a basket to take him anywhere unless he was desperately ill. I hate to think what would have happened if she had managed to trap him and take him somewhere- he would find that traumatising and stressful, yet he's got a home and is perfectly happy and well fed.

I've seen him. He's in great condition and is very very friendly. Sure he has a lovely home somewhere so best leave him be! Also I didn't see any white on him.

I know its an old thread, but does anyone have any more accurate idea of where this cat belongs? Long story ... but very like one who has arrived in rescue with us recently.
