Reliable Dog Walker

Recommended Posts

Hello,

I have a grogeous 5 month old Cocker pup. I hire a dog walker for days when I am working 2-4 times a week. It has come to my attention that he is picking her up alot later than we agreed which is not acceptable as she is crate training and should not be left for more than 4 hours which he is aware of. He has been caught twice now and I just don't trust him anymore. He has been more than 2 hours later than agreed on both occasions and I am paying a premium price. This is very cruel and I am very unhappy about it. Does anyone know a reliable dog walker that covers the S2 area? She is a great dog and very well socialised, I just need someone who will pick her up at the time they say they will.

Hi Holly,

Have you checked the list of walkers on here? I'm not sure who covers the S2 area? Have you spoken to your current walker about your concerns? If him being so late has only happened a couple of times, there may be a valid reason?

I hope you get something sorted soon ?

No I haven't, I will have a look. Thank you! He was caught before and he said it wouldn't happen again. When I confronted him this time he said he 'forgot' about her so was late. I don't think that's good enough when I am paying around £100 a month for his services. He wasn't that apologetic and I don't trust him now. I earn less than his hourly wage and I feel a bit ripped off now if my puppy has been left to get stressed in her crate when it should be a positive space for her. Being over 2 hours late on the time we agreed is not acceptable. I hope to find someone quickly I will just have to be more careful this time. :)

while i agree about 2 hours lates isn't good , you also have to realise that sometimes you go to a dog , you find he's been sick etc , sometimes if they are poorly you will be held up waiting for the owners return but we always would make contact and let you know what's happening . Give me a call as I may be able to help you , at 5 months she is a little young to be left all that time without company, cockers are working dogs and need stimulation.

Yeah two hours is not good enough. As a dog walker myself I've never been more than ten minutes late . Get another Dog walker he sounds like a numpty. But I'm afraid I don't know any your way but word of mouth is the best way of getting a good one . I hope you find a good one .

Tina at waggytails is amazing! Nothing is too much trouble. Extremely reliable. Wonderfully caring towards my dog! Wouldn't trust anyone but Tina . Even though they are often walked in muddy conditions my house always left clean and my doggy dried off , well cared for ! My dog loves Tina ! To summarise - reliable, flexible, caring and extremely trustworthy! give her a call on 07990 90 3773 .

Good grief! 'Forgetting' is not acceptable at all. That's terrible! My hubby Rene doesn't cover your area but has picked up a few dogs that previous walkers have let down. Consequently he knows that those owners are extra worried as they have had their trust broken previously. I hope you find someone quickly, best of luck x

Just a note if you do use doggy den one of the requirements are that your dog has to have had kennel cough vaccination because obviously it will be mixing with other dogs in an enclosed environment . Good look with your search !

Absolutely unacceptable unless their was an emergency. I wouldn't put up with it .

If I was at work I wouldn't be happy with my dogs waiting that long
