Withdraw funding from Israel to end the violence..

Recommended Posts

Avaaz are lobbying to convince large corporations to withdraw funding from Israel in an effort to put a peaceful, none violent end to the war. I think it's worth signing, whoever you side with. If the war is unaffordable, it could force a peaceful end to the conflict.

Won't they just do the same as Gaza and lob very cheap rockets into Gaza in retaliation for the very cheap rockets Gaza keep firing into Israel? Wars don't have to be expensive, they can be fought very cheaply but sadly the number of innocent casualties increases as you weapons become less sophisticated and accurate.

Yes, and by definition proportionate, not perfect but proportionate.

So as long as its proportionate it doesn't matter if more people are killed. Gaza's population density is significantly higher than Israel's so if Israel fired an equal number of rockets into Gaza there would be more casualties in Gaza than Israel.

What an interesting idea. Thousands of untargeted high explosive rockets raining down on the civilian population of Gaza is acceptable to you but attempting to take out the terrorists firing rockets at your civilian population isn't.

How is this in anyway going to stop Hamas shooting off Rockets into Israel???

Israel was in the process of pulling out of the Gaza strip, opening boarder crossings and easing travel and goods restrictions, until Hamas rose to power in 2006-2007 and completely ruined everything.

I think their point is that Israel won't have the Iron dome so more Israeli's will be killed, which is clearly the ultimate aim of those that oppose Israel and defend Hamas.

It's just an attempt to stop the violence. Politicians don't seem to be doing a very good job. Don't sign it if you don't agree.

Are you taking a similar stand against the violence in the Ukraine and that in Iraq and Syria??

Why is everyone suck a dick when it comes to this conflict?!? Both Israel and Hamas are as bad as each other. Stop trying to make out people who want peace are wanting more Israelis dead!

He doesn't want proportionate force, the point is he wants his jihadi friends to have the upper hand

It won't stop the violence, humans were killing each other well before the advent of technology, we started with sticks rocks and bones to kill each other.
