Mozilla   10 #1 Posted August 6, 2014 (edited) Makes sense to buy local then support Israel - a rogue state which commits war crimes.....  It is now 10 years since the international court of justice ruled that the wall built by Israel in the occupied West Bank contravenes international law and must be removed. Israel is marking this anniversary with renewed attacks on Gaza which continue to punish the Palestinians for resisting the illegal occupation of their land (Israel turns screw on Hamas as 300 targets are hit in a single night, 11 July). The apartheid wall is still there, making any kind of normal life for Palestinians an impossibility, as well as stealing their land. It is 47 years since Israel occupied the West Bank, Gaza, East Jerusalem and the Golan Heights, thus extending the process (begun in 1948) of ethnically cleansing the indigenous population and then installing settlers.  All this is illegal under international law, which has been flouted by Israel, aided by the complicity of western governments. The media too, especially the BBC, must bear some responsibility with its grotesquely biased reporting which, as Owen Jones notes (9 July), portrays Israel as an innocent victim, exempt from any norms of behaviour. Our government will not hold Israel accountable, so we have a responsibility to do so, especially through the civil society campaign of Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions (BDS).   Jews for Boycotting Israeli Goods (J-BIG)[/b]  http://www.theguardian.com/world/2014/jul/11/boycott-campaign-israel-sense  Israel, Gaza, And The BDS Movement   SHOPPING CAN KILL!  Is the public ready to boycott? A survey conducted for the Jewish Chronicle[20] in January 2009 found that 47% of British people support the Palestinian position compared to just 22% who support the Israeli line. Nearly 1 in 3 british people (29%) are in favour of boycotting israeli goods, and of those who aren't sure(30%) or feel its a bad idea(41%), most reason that sanctions would have no effect(48%) or worry that it would just harden the israeli position(14%). This survey clearly shows that British people empathise with the Palestinians and are willing to boycott Israeli goods but need encouragement and convincing that it will make a difference  http://www.inminds.co.uk/shopping-can-kill.php  Potatoes (*even selling in the Moor Market*)  This even includes Israeli potatoes, shipped over 2000 miles to compete with the UKs own indigenous main crop. Two in every three potatoes Israel exports to the EU ends up in the UK, even Israeli King Edward potatoes have been seen on the shelves of M&S! Last year Israeli exporter Mehadrin Tnuport Export (MTEX) boasted of tripling its potato sales to the UK. Potatoes are grown by illegal settlers using stolen Palestinian land and water http://www.ipsc.ie/campaigns/potato-boycott  Peppers  Perhaps the most pervasive israeli fresh produce in our supermarkets is the bell pepper. A quick visit to a local supermarket (Tesco, but it could have been any supermarket) revealed they had on display 18 baskets of bell peppers (see below) with 7 different products for sale. Every single one of them bar one was from Israel, and the one that wasn't was part of a pack in which the other peppers were from Israel, so effectively you couldn't buy a pepper from Tesco's without supporting Israel!  Jaffa (ethnically cleansed town)  The most recognisable Israeli brand on the supermarket shelves is the JAFFA brand seen on citrus fruits.Their other exports include Madjoul dates which their website admits are grown in the Jordan Valley, on the occupied West Bank[19].  http://www.boycottisrael.org.uk/my-local-supermarket-is-selling-israeli-produce-is-yours/  http://www.bdsmovement.net/  https://www.facebook.com/pages/Jews-for-Boycotting-Israeli-Goods/100920339981699  We, Palestinians, Jews, citizens of Israel, join the Palestinian call for a BDS campaign against Israel, inspired by the struggle of South Africans against apartheid.1 We also call on others to do the same. http://boycottisrael.info/ Edited August 6, 2014 by Mozilla
 Share this content via...

You won`t like that answer but I`ve answered honestly so tough  So babies being blown up is O.K,and dogs isn't? And people against babies being blown up are idiots? The word ignorant, would be an understatement.
 Share this content via...

mafya   246 #12 Posted August 7, 2014 isn't it a shame that nobody wants to buy anything that Hamas is selling, except bull**** aimed at 'useful idiots', in the west.  Nobody needs to listen to Hamas, Israels massacre in gaza is well documented and clear for all to see. The blame it on Hamas line or Hamas is to blame lines are getting tiresome now.
 Share this content via...
