Shoe re-soling? Costs and recommendations

Recommended Posts

My boots are wearing out underneath :(

Does anyone have any recommendations where I can take them to get re-soled? The leather and zips are fine and have plenty of life in them. I've had them a couple of years and it would be a real shame to throw them away. They were £140 new so I don't mind paying a bit to get them repaired.

i stopped using Peters as the work was shoddy soles kept coming away and the leather wasnt good and wore very quickly, try the shop on ecclesall road or the one at Millhouses, not cheap at£40 + but lasts twice as long.

There is a Peter's Shoe Repairers in Chesterfield which the wife has used. About £35 sounds about right for a good job.

Thanks, I need them to last, I seem to wear shoes (especially the heels) quite quickly.

£35-40 seems good, I'd struggle to get a decent new pair for that much :)

Had some work shoes re-soled at the cobblers on Hatfield House Lane S5 about three years ago, cost me £6. I'm still wearing them.

There's a cobblers stall in the moor market, who have done a couple of good resoling jobs for me before. Also, their banner says "Because time wounds all heels", which tickles me :)-

I have used the one in Crystal Peaks market and have always been pleased with the work they have done.
