Maybe that was the only free slot they had, dont forget a lot of people are off work this time of year so the office could be running on minimum staff levels.

It's not the estate agents, it's the solicitors who are incompetent by orders of magnitude.

They have loads of people wanting to sell and nobody wanting to buy.

Tell them you want to buy and they will have their tongue up your ****.

Not true I'm afraid.

Wanted an appointment to view an empty house and suggested several different days/times. The agent offered one appointment which didn't fit any of my suggestions.

I explained that I worked shifts and was told that was my problem not theirs.

A call to their head office in London changed their minds.

Too many young staff (and presumably, cheap), who wouldn't recognise customer service if it jumped out in front of them, and who have never bought or sold a house in their lives.

When i was trying to buy a house, which was a repossession, the estate agent told us that if anyone else wanted to view it they would actively make it as difficult as possible for anyone to get a viewing as they had to advertise the property for a certain amount of time but didn't want to have to keep restarting the process if someone else came in. Therefore as soon as i offered on the property whenever anyone wanted to view they would tell them that they had no one avalable to take the viewing so that nobody else could view the property.

Not saying thats what happened here, and to be fair unless its a repossession i think its not a good thing to do as they are taking peoples money to sell the property, but it is a possibility.
