mylo_chan   10 #1 Posted December 28, 2011 i had half of one wall skimmed and feathered recently and i painted it with white emulsion today. i thought the edge of the newly applied plaster was sanded down but it wasnt. me being me i carried on applying a few coats of emulsion to try and get rid of it but it didnt work.  will i now have to go back to square one and sand it down?  i was not born for diy! pintor   32 #2 Posted December 28, 2011 Yes it would be better to sand it down, dust it off and try again
 Share this content via...

Grandad.Malky   11 #5 Posted December 28, 2011 who bigs the wall  Presumably too big to have skimmed the lot and saved a lot of hassle
 Share this content via...
brad1974 Â Â 10 #6 Posted December 28, 2011 presumably not just done 7 metre wall 2 bags multi - the plasterer should have feathered alot better by sounds of it.
 Share this content via...
p-and-d   10 #7 Posted December 28, 2011 Depending on how bad the feathering is get some decent filler and apply. Once its set get to work on the sanding and enjoy. Did you seal the new plaster?
 Share this content via...

mylo_chan   10 #9 Posted December 30, 2011 the wall it a little larger than you average height wall of a living room. i had the top third skimmed because it previously had a suspended ceiling. i only had that bit skimmed to save costs. As i painted it without knowing i had to sand it down, you can now see the dinstinction.  looks like the general advise is to sand it down and paint again lol  will give it a try!  thanks all
 Share this content via...
