It's tragic that we flush our toilets with fresh drinking water.

If you are that bothered you could help to negate that by having a few dumps before flushing.

To put it in perspective, the privatised utilities are just a license to print money for shareholders - managing the infrastructure is just something they dabble in.

If they are profitable, bringing the water companies back into public ownership will benefit the exchequer.

That will leave the magic money tree available for its original purpose, paying bonuses for failing bankers and the like.

There was enough on the magic money tree to give the MPs a pay rise and to bail out the banks so the super-rich could buy classic cars, but it all dried up when we needed 30,000 Police to protect us from terrorists or make sure the elderly had the care they needed.
