Homicides in England and Wales up 14%

Recommended Posts

I was thinking that there had been more deaths in the past year or so, these stats are out of date.

But is it something that you have noticed, knife crime, drugs?

The number of homicides in England and Wales rose by 71 to 574 in the 12 months to September 2015 - an increase of 14% fuelled by rises in knife and gun crime, official statistics show.

Is it something that should be worried about, we have record numbers locked up, what is going wrong?

Probably a blip. Homicides rates have been falling for many years and are still extremely low. A large proportion of these are gang related and should not give the impression that the general public are at any more danger.

Says the police are going to up the stop and search in London, haven't we been this way before and wasn't the black community against it,by looking at the murders in London by knifes it does appear most of them are from the black community.

Yes, wasn't it dubbed 'sus' law, it was a bit contentious I recall as whites were in the minority with stop and search.
