squizzy123 Â Â 10 #1 Posted January 4, 2017 Any rough ideas how much a single storey side extension to a kitchen would be? The space required would be 2.4m x 3.3m and would run from the current offshot to meet the other wall of the house. Obviously there are lots of variable but a rough idea would be useful. dan2802   53 #2 Posted January 4, 2017 Impossible to begin to give an estimate. £15k - £40k. Get some drawings and then you can get some quotes.
 Share this content via...

solar energy   10 #4 Posted January 5, 2017 Technically, dan2802 has given you a rough quote, try changing you question to "any precise ideas on a extension......." But I say £20k to £25k Depends on your footings, thickness of walls, plumbing works, INSULATION is the biggest hidden cost (floor, walls and roof). Electrics (if these find a fault expect a new fuse board). Planning costs, submissions. Roof, roofer, Plastering, joinery work are generally small fry compare to the first trades. Decorating and fixture an fittings. Or and materials.
 Share this content via...
ttparsons   10 #5 Posted January 5, 2017 Try a building cost calculator such as http://www.whatprice.co.uk/costs/extension-costs.php However you will need to add in the cost of fittings and installation such as kitchens, bathrooms, flooring. Also depends on the complexity of the design, steels to hold your existing house up if you are opening it up unto the extension etc.
 Share this content via...
