Are people happier when the weather is nice and sunny in summer?

Saying that, I'm a bit down at the mo.

I know, I blame spellcheck. Or babies waking me up an hour before I have to get up any way.

Only an hour? Can we swap?

Aw Pet, I'm sorry to hear that. Anything we can do?

It's easier to feel happy when it's warm and sunny. I have to be very careful when the sun is out as I come out in itchy bumps, but I love long hot summer days sliding into warm evenings and soft light.

I'm happy when the days are long and the sun is shining. I'm happy on Fridays. If it's sunny on a Friday I'm bordering on the manic! I have a job to stop myself skipping as I walk along. Is there an opposite of S.A.D.?

Hot town, summer in the city

Back of my neck getting dirty and gritty

Been down, isn't it a pity

Doesn't seem to be a shadow in the city

All around, people looking half dead

Walking on the sidewalk, hotter than a match head

Hay fever; people who forget their deodorant; packed, hot, sticky commuter trains; people who forget their deodorant on packed, hot, sticky commuter trains; faulty, under-performing air-con and faulty, over-performing radiators; other people's radios, barbecues and obnoxious, screaming kids.

Summer's lovely on your own terms: a shady spot on a remote beach, dangling my feet in a rock pool, with a goodly supply of something cold, and not a squawking child in earshot. How much time and opportunity do most of us get to really enjoy the summer?

Pop down to your local market and people buy more fruit when the sun shines.

I go fishing in all weathers but it's much more pleasurable with a bit of sun on your back rather than being dressed from head to foot in thermal gear. I've just got home after a nice evening session on my local pond.

From experience in the Summer with the neighbours around where I live.

The windows get opened wide.

Booze get consumed more.

The stereo gets put on full blast with 4 to the floor stuff.

Couples start arguing and shouting loudly because of the above.

I blast out Hawkwinds "Shouldn't Do That" from In Search Of Space.

.

The rest of the neighbours pray for rain.:hihi:

I prefer the live version which is on the " Roadhawks " album!

I haven't had the opportunity to really enjoy summer since I grew up and got myself a job.
