Right then pop pickers, chesterfields MP Toby Perkins (who?) is pushing for a national anthem for England and thinks the public should be consulted, which I don't think is a bad idea.

It's a pity the MP hasn't got any other issues to push . There is nothing wrong with England using "God Save The Queen"

Are you going to do the lyrics apelike? I would go with it ,with billy doing the da de da for the words.

No words though for sportsmen and women to sing badly or left wing politicians to angst over.

 

Is that a bad thing though? Can a national anthem have no lyrics?

 

Yes is he short answer after a tiny bit of research. Spain's national anthem has no official words. Neither does Bosnia.
