Recommended Posts

Hi

We're planning on moving to Sheffield - looking for a 4 bed detached house in a nice area with decent Schools.

Can anyone help?

Thanks x

What kind of Schools? Infant, Junior or Secondary?

Fulwood is a nice area.

Not too sure about the others but Sheffield High School is private.

Where are you moving from & Why if you don't mind me asking ?

Thinking of moving from Worksop - we moved there from the Midlands 2 years ago, to a lovely suberb within Worksop. However, not impressed with Worksop itself - our work is in Sheffield, but would need to be an area with good Schools.

Would highly recommend Sothall as an area to live.

Crystal Peaks on your doorstep as is the parkway and M1.

Rother valley country park is a 5 min walk away.

However I have only heard bad things about Westfield High School. Can't say for sure about the rest. The kids could get the tram to All Saints High School ( a lot of kids do this ) which may be an option however. The tram runs every 10 mins.

LindseyW could vouch for the above I'm sure!

Can you give us an idea of your budget? If you read some of the threads on here you will see that there are many views on where to live in Sheffield and why. However, if we knew how much you were willing to pay then we would be able to more easily identify a suitable area.

For instance, where I live in Walkley £230k would buy you a detached 4 bedded bungalow with 2 bathrooms and its own gym. You could get a similar size property in Handsworth for under £200k or one in Fulwood for over £250k.

Thanks v. much.

We'd be looking at a maximum budget of £230k.
