Upperthorpe?

hi! i have been looking to move to sheffield, and have seen a couple of houses in the upperthrope area that look promising- does anyone know what the area is like? thanks !

Hi, welcome to the forum. Can you give us a bit more information? Upperthorpe is a big area so if you can tell us which streets we might be able to be more specific in our advice. Also if you use the search facility you'll see the area has been mentioned before.

I'm actually lookign at Upperthorpe road- it's quite near the infirmary road tram stop, addy street and daniel hill?

 

any ifo would be appreciated. i couldnt see any posts about these areas with the search facility, but if anyone wants to prove me wrong, feel free :-)

There is a Healthy Living Centre opening at Upperthorpe soon. It's at the foot of Daniel Hill and its web site is here:

It's based around the library and swimming baths and will no doubt lead to increased house prices in the area.

 

I'd suggest that Upperthorpe Road and Daniel Hill would be preferable to Addy Street. Also try looking at Westmoreland, Yeomans and Cumberland just up Daniel Hill. They're old style terraces but I think with the centre opening soon the prices may start going up there too.
