Guest   #1 Posted January 8, 2016 Recently I've been trying hard to turn a life long hobby of drawing into a career of illustration.  I'm completely self taught, I've not been to college or anything like that but despite that I have recently contacted a number of illustration agencies to show them examples of my work and also a few literary agents that specialise in children's picture books with an effort that I have written and illustrated myself. see the link below to take a look.  https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.1647507452182024.1073741842.1538053589794078&type=1&l=de575e2f06  A few of them having contacted me back already saying that they are impressed with and have enjoyed looking at my work but unfortunately its not the right fit for them or not what their client base is looking for right now etc etc.  One of them was Plum Pudding Agency. Judging by the sort of standard of illustrators they have on their books (http://www.plumpuddingillustration.com/) part of me had high hopes of getting some interest from them, but no joy.  I've found out that Illustration is a very saturated and difficult industry to get into and agencies are very very selective about who they take on so I've decided instead to go down the self publishing route, putting my book on the online Amazon/Kindle thing, which is all new and confusing to me as I don't even own a kindle!  I'd like to hear from anyone who has had any experience of publishing with Amazon. little malc   10 #2 Posted January 14, 2016 If you download the instructions for uploading to Kindle it's quite straightforward. However, you still have to attempt to publicise it yourself which is the most difficult aspect!
 Share this content via...
