dorberman   10 #1 Posted May 25, 2017 How much should a manager need to get to the premiership? Or is a good manager who knows english football best? Millions needed? Or just a great manager?
 Share this content via...
DC89216 Â Â 10 #2 Posted May 25, 2017 What does it take to get to the Premier League do you mean? Â Large squad first of all. Quality, so yes some cash. Strong mentality. Even Newcastle lost to the likes of SWFC and Blackburn etc throughout the season but they bounced back.
 Share this content via...

Huddersfield 1 game away from prem and their budget was lower than rotherhams who finished rock bottom So my view is a great manager is more important than just blowing cash and having a team thats not together
 Share this content via...

top4718   838 #5 Posted May 25, 2017 Here we go yet another veiled dig at the owls  Tiresome innit.  The thing is they are expecting to just turn up next season (we've heard that before) once they start struggling they be screaming at mccabe to do exactly what he's trying to condemn us for.  To answer the question - to get to the Prem you need money, luck, a good manager, teamwork, infrastructure etc etc. No one thing guarentees it. Guest   #6 Posted May 25, 2017 Money can help but it doesn't guarantee success.  Team spirit is more important - all you have to do is look at teams like Huddersfield and the Blades. Both teams are on minimal budgets but have been successful due to the quality of their management.  Where it really works is when you combine a healthy budget with a strong team ethic. The high fliers in the PL prove this.
 Share this content via...

Spot on Top with not just one thing though.
 Share this content via...

Except it will be more level for the ones with parachute payments than the others.  Look at recent promoted teams and see what attributes they have and you have your answer- widely available info at the press of a button, if you'd done that you wouldn't have been able to have a dig though. SomeNextGuy   10 #12 Posted May 25, 2017 At least 40 million every pre season to compete. Any less is just not enough to do anything of note in the Championship.
 Share this content via...
