The chain is a sealed for life but there is a problem with the cars using N47 engines from 2007 to about 2012. If the corrective work on the guides and crank hasn't been done it's engine failure time.  After 2012 it's not a problem and ones fixed under warranty are also good - so no chain attention needed or cambelt swaps at all. It’s absolutely brilliant to drive, powerful, reliable and reasonably economical to run. It’s one of my favourite crossover types of vehicle. .
