hi guys don't want to derail your chats,but after lots of work the lowedges festival on sun august 9th in greenhill park s8,will be doing ww1,ww2,civil war an 13th ,14th,15 century living history and re-enactment,by event planners who used to do the Sheffield fayre re-enactment in Norfolk park,details will be available soon on the events forum and local media and I trust this will be of great intrest to many of you,thanks

Wow, you have a lot of work ahead of you- I will certainly keep my eyes peeled for any plaques etc.Those brave men should be remembered. Am currently trying to find out more about my great grandad who served in, WW1, he lived in Sheffield but was born in India- so not sure he would fit your criteria. Good Luck.

I don't know if this is of use to you but there is a large roll of honour at the top of The Victoria Approach where the old Victoria Station was.
