has anyone had Success from using SEO for Dummies in terms of driving more Traffic to Website & increasing Sales as a result ?

Yes, best £22 I ever spent. Check what edition it is as the way Google works has changed over the years.

I was reading this morning that Google is changing its search function to favour websites that are phone and tablet friendly over those (like mine) that are not.

You have to understand the guiding principle for how Google works. It's number one criteria is about providing relevant information based on someone's search criteria. Part of the 'relevancy test' is the user experience i.e. can they disseminate the information they need quickly and easy.

 

Therefore it makes sense, to Google, that site owners need to think about users who are searching for relevant information on mobiles/tablets (and they are right to think this...trying to disseminate information on my iPhone from a site that is only 'PC friendly' is not easy).

Of course, the cynic in me suggests this is a great way to get users to pay for adwords whilst they upgrade their websites :hihi:
