Hi Johnpm, Just been going through Sheffield Pictures and

noticed this photo, do these names ring a bell to you.

Not sure if they were lads from Reform Chaple as their faces look

familiar, on the back row the 3rd/4th lads do.

Hi Brian1941, Certainly the photo would have been taken at Skegness Sheffield Battalion camp & the 53rd did go to that. I agree that the 3rd & 4th lads could be from Reform; maybe 3rd is Eric Foster but its just a guess . I don't recognise the other names given though. Alan Foster may know but he isn't on email.

What my query is about in this picture is Windsor Hotel, would you think

it was their in the 1960s, i worked on Saville St for many years and have

walked up/down Princess St and i can't ever remember anythink about

the hotel. PS i've even forgot where Windsor St is.

Thanks John. Yours Brian

I lived in that vicinity as a kid, during the 50's and 60's and don't remember the Windsor Hotel so must have gone by then, There was another pub nearby, perhaps the same street, the Lord Nelson and one a little further up, the Norfolk Arms. Windsor Street-Princess Street( on the right going towards Brightside) is roughly where the old Sheffield Smelting Company used to be.

Can anyone throw some light on what's going on with the Arms

Rumour has it that boots is moving in but this is NOT the case, it's apparently going to be an alternative medicine shop for the slovakian community.
