Thought i'd share this old photo I dug out, most likely taken at Richmond, this is my great grandma (Now long gone) wiht her husbands Trimph Mayflower:

My Dad had one.................bought it new from Hatfields in 52/53. He kept it for about 10years I think. Reg OWA 847. I last saw it in the early 80's on the back of a tipper, presumably being taken to a scrapyard!

A friend of mine david stephenson of wulfric place ~~well his father used to borrow a Mayflower from a relative now and again in the 50s. ~~~it was like a baby Rolls and more like a coach built car

What engine was in the Mayflower? I know the bigger Razoredge was 2 litre but not sure about the Mayflower. The Razoredge was 3 speed column change - I presume the Mayflower was likewise.

The bigger car was the Renown. My teacher at school in the 1950s had one in black. I always thought the engine sounded like my mother's Singer sewing machine. Beautiful car.

Very interesting. I thought the VW Beetle was the first car to have synchro on all forward gears.

Our next door neighbour on Birley Spa Lane had one in the mid 1950s. It was black and I always looked upon it as a limo. Mind you, I was only about 4 foot tall.
