Winter pike fishing best places to go?

HI now that the winter is here ,and pole fishing becomes more harder

can anyone tell me some good spots to fish for pike.

and the best baite to use thank you

Dam flask has a few good ones in, can be hard goin at times though. Underbank near Stockbridge can be good as well, had them out there in the snow.

yes i would say dam flask if ya looking for small ones then yes underbank is o.k ive been to both and myself would pick dam flask (go to the basin if you are looking for big fish):thumbsup: im up at flask most times:thumbsup:

Both flask and underbank done 30's or bigger..... flask is cheaper at £14 for a two month ticket. went for a walk round this weekend and there was a few on piking. I'l be on next weekend they starting to feed up now.

so does that tell you somthing whats better £4 for one rod at underbank or £4 for day and fish with upto 4 rods or £14 for month at flask im at stocksbridge and fish underbank a lot 6-7 years and never got a big one the last big pike over 40lb that got caught out of underbank got eat by a local man.....:loopy: :loopy: :rant: but no one as got anything big thats why all the pikers i know goto damflask its a lot better i think..... first time i went to flask i got a 26lb er and i would say damflask could poss hold the record pike and was told that by the balliff the record chub was got at damflask aswell and jonny_b hope to see you at flask fishing:hihi:

plenty of decent ones in underbank....... i used to fish it a lot in the mid nineties, before those muppets took over, and by decent i mean 20+ in the snow, quality! :)

 

As for the flask been better, i would agree to be fair, for a number of reasons.

try sheffield canal at the tinsley basins it's solid with them from jacks up to about 20lb,i was fishing bloodworm and joker 2 weeks ago and gotpestered all day by pike one was caught about 8lb and the 2 others that were kicking around were bigger,there's also a chance of hte odd zander awell they get to about 12lb.

some good pike comming out at dam flask at the moment last week a 45lb was taken on dead bait at the top end near the sporning area we was up friday and monday took 2 20lb out

Are you sure it was 45lb - that's only just short of the British record.

now then ray, big kris here, 20,s eh !!!

sporning ground is the bottle neck, ive take a 27 lb a 19 and a slack hand full of jacks from that area, all ledgered dead baits and thanks for choppiping my head off in the pic u twit.
