Come and join us at the 2012 Sheffield Santa Jog, organised in partnership with Sheffield City Council. This is a one mile festive fun run to raise urgently needed sponsorship to help local people with heart disease.

Starting in Tudor Square with a popular mass warm up by local gym instructors and live music from the Dearne Big Band, runners will set off in a flurry of snow. The two lap course follows a route through the heart of the city centre and is suitable for pushchairs and wheel chairs. Anyone can take part, from babies to the elderly and you can complete the course at your own pace.

Our Santa Jog is a perfect way to get into the Christmas spirit, raise your own heart rate and help save local lives.

Eleven-year-old heart patient, Tom Procter, will be starting this year’s event with his family. Emma Gosling, Tom’s mother said: "Tom was born with Di George Syndrome, a genetic disorder that can cause heart defects. Although he had open heart surgery when he was just a year old, there is unfortunately no cure available yet for his condition. I urge everyone to register early for this popular pre-Christmas event and help Tom and us raise funds to help other children with congenital heart disease. One in 145 children are born with various types of congenital heart disease and we need to do all we can to help the British Heart Foundation’s research."

The entry fee is £10.00 for adults and young people aged 14 and over, which includes a free adult size Santa Suit. Children aged 13 and under can enter the jog for free in fancy dress but need to be accompanied by a fee paying adult. Under 16s need parental permission to participate.

We will have a selection of prizes for the children in best fancy dress, donated by local companies. Everyone taking part in the Jog, young and old, will receive a goody bag with discounted vouchers to local attractions, thanks to the support of area businesses. Our registration fee just covers the cost of running the event and all participants are asked to raise as much sponsorship as you can.

Why not come along and enjoy the many attractions in the City Centre!
