Plain Talker   11 #2 Posted September 24, 2011 If it's St Stephens school, the little school at the side of St Stephen's church, in Fawcett Street, in Netherthorpe, it still exists, here:-  (It's now called Bethany school, apparently, BTW)  http://maps.google.co.uk/maps?q=Fawcett+Street,+Sheffield&hl=en&ll=53.386142,-1.484982&spn=0.000603,0.001206&sll=53.800651,-4.064941&sspn=19.648276,39.506836&vpsrc=6&t=h&z=20&layer=c&cbll=53.386152,-1.485025&panoid=TWmBlET2avzZ_LFBQObhVA&cbp=12,158.85,,0,-9.
 Share this content via...
AEGALE Â Â 10 #3 Posted September 25, 2011 Thanks for the info and link Plain Talker. It seems to the the correct one, going by the bit of info I have. I thought all the streets were lost after the slums came down. I've been looking for Wentworth street.
 Share this content via...
Plain Talker   11 #4 Posted September 25, 2011 Wentworth street is only a path, these days.  on the map link I supplied, go across the playing field (the ponderosa) and Find where Martin Street runs . Wentworth street is the footpath that runs up the playing field, parallel with Martin Street. (it used to be an actual street).  Some streets were lost, but others live on, in the names of the tower blocks (Adelphi, Wentworth, Burlington, etc, etc).
