Liverpool could really win the Premier League this year!

Recommended Posts

After a thumping 5-0 win at Spurs and with Suarez in such form Liverpool could really be in with a chance this year, for the first time since 2008-09.

Brendon Rogers must really have done something right.

Losing to teams like Hull won't help, outside chance but think Man City, they were awesome yesterday.

If they can carry on playing like they did today they will.

I wouldn't mind if Arsenal won it, they've stuck with Wenger when they could have easily got shot of him and they still have some kind of ethos re bringing youngsters through and not throwing money around (Ozil excepted).

All the teams at the top are looking world beaters one week then getting turned over by WBA, Hull, Stoke or Soton the next.

Makes it interesting though.

Possibly but i put them on the same level as Arsenal,Man Utd,Everton,Chelsea.

Man.City are the best tean when they are on,but it is consistency over 38 games.

After watching Real Madrid yesterday play so average, not discounting Man City for the CL too. They look similar in level to Bayern and Barcelona with Real and Dortmund a bit behind.

Nice to see a team that doesn't spend a quadrillon win the league for a change.

The way this season has gone it wouldn't surprise me if they did...

Man City should be in with the best chance if they can sort out their away form though, they've been a cut above the rest of the league at home.

Arsenal might struggle in the 'big' matches and Chelsea need to fix their defensive frailties.

The problem with that statement is, they don't play like that week in week out.

A distinctly poor Hull team beat them only a few weeks since.

They've got goals in them and potentially the best strike force in the league with Suarez and Sturridge. Gerrard is still amazing considering his age.

That said, they haven't got a massive amount behind these.

48 million spent last summer.

49 million the year before.

34 the season before.

97 million the year before.

41 million the year before.

40 million the one before.

They spend a fair chunk.

Today's starting XI actually cost 118.9 Million. With another 22.1 million on the bench.

You can say that about pretty much any team after they put on a brilliant display.

Liverpool are a much improved team this year, but still think the league is a bit too far.
