fayzastar   10 #1 Posted June 12, 2017 (edited) Does anyone have any information on the house that appears to be derelict on Hallamshire Road S10?  The front is very overgrown and some of the windows are smashed/some open. It looks a real mess.  Derelict? Abandoned? Did something happen here?  Extremely interested.  Thankyou Edited June 14, 2017 by fayzastar
 Share this content via...
andrejuan   10 #2 Posted June 12, 2017 I haven't noticed one, they are all 60s/70s houses on the Close, and seem well kept. The rates etc. must be being paid?
 Share this content via...
fayzastar   10 #3 Posted June 12, 2017 (edited) I am going to see what number it is tomorrow.  I don't live up there, but I have to go up there every day.  It looked awful, all overgrown, no curtains, broken and open windows, full of junk. I think I found it on Google Earth but it looked habitated on there.  I go past everyday but only noticed it today. I think I found it on Google Earth but it looked habitated on there.  I go past everyday but only noticed it today.  This backs up my theory that 'Google Earth' is actually a full size artificial planet built by Google just so they can photograph it. Obviously, they don't want it to look all untidy with derelict houses and stuff, so that's explains why the house you're on about looks okay there. I think (if I'm not mistaken) it was Slartibartfast himself who created Hallamshire Road, while the mice looked on.  Eat yer heart out Amey
 Share this content via...

I took a couple of pics but not sure how or if i can post them.  If it's the one I think it is (at the crimicar lane end) it's probably not empty - someone lives in it.  I had a friend who lived near to it and it was like that all the time they were there. A lady lived in it.
 Share this content via...

It's not like you are moving next door to the property.
 Share this content via...
mike142sl   10 #12 Posted June 20, 2017 I also know who owns it and can confirm it is 'habited' although I'm not sure it's on a permanent basis at the moment.
 Share this content via...
