We've all said em before I know, but there are some sayings that just roll back the years.

One I remember was when ever I was poorly, mi mam puttin an hot water bottle under bed clothes, tucking me in, and saying I'd be," As snug as a bug in a rug " .

What about when your mother said"If tha falls off that wall and breaks thee leg don,t come running to me",and if you were being cheeky my dad thought he was a plastic surgeon saying"I,ll put that smile ont tuther side o thee face in a minute!".

Whenever the family received any extra money from Dad's overtime, Mam would say, 'There will be corn in Egypt'.

 

We knew we would be getting something decent to eat.
