Yes - to quote Peter Harvey in his book Street Names of Sheffield
, Oxford Street is "... one of a group of streets the names of which seem to have been copied from famous London street names. As well as Oxford Street there were Bond Street (now gone) and Burlington Street." Bond Street linked Oxford Street with Wentworth Street and ran parallel to Burlington Street.
