Campana   10 #1 Posted September 1, 2014 (edited) The bellringers at St Leonard's Church Wortley are holding a Bric-a-Brac Sale along with a bell tower open day in the church on Saturday 20th September starting at 10.30 am through to 4.00pm. There will be other items on sale and refreshments with cakes. This is to help raise funds to keep the bells ringing. The bell fittings are worn out and a major overhaul is needed or they will become unringable in the near future. Please come and visit us and find out about bell ringing, how to become a ringer and have a look around this lovely church and village. Admission is free but a donation would be appreciated. Check out Wortley Tower on Facebook for more information. Edited September 15, 2014 by Campana
 Share this content via...
Campana   10 #2 Posted September 15, 2014 (edited) 5 days to go to this event. Have you ever been to see bell church bell ringing, is it something you might want to do, have you been up a Church tower - into the clock room, ringing room and belfry, have you been in St Leonard's at Wortley at all? If the answer to any of these is NO you need to come and see us on Saturday. Have a coffee with us, buy something (bric-a-brac, plants, cakes, knitted mice) explore Wortley village. See post above for why we launched the Wortley Bells Appeal and why we are trying to raise a lot of money to keep them ringing. Check out our Facebook page for photos and leaflet as there is a ladder access Edited September 15, 2014 by Campana
 Share this content via...
