jojothecool   10 #1 Posted February 1, 2012 Hi everyone, I am renovating a Victorian house and downstairs there is original, very deep skirting board. Unfortunately, some of it has been damaged during the renovation and I need about 2 lengths to fix it. Does anyone know know where I might be able to find salvaged skirting board, or to get some made up that's the same? My joiner has said that he *could* do it, but he'd have to buy a cutter to make it which would cost at least £80 on its own, so I'd be looking at over £150 for 2 lengths of skirting, which seems daft to me. Olive   10 #2 Posted February 1, 2012 We're looking for some deep Victorian style skirting as well. The stuff in Wickes and B&Q isn't deep enough (you'd think they'd do a better range with all the Victorian houses in the area!). Anyone know if you can buy it off the shelf anywhere else? (sorry to hijack your thread Jojo)
 Share this content via...

MZ2832 Â Â 10 #5 Posted February 1, 2012 Have you tried Swifties salvage yard on Abbeydale Road near the bottom of Sheldon Road, Netheredge (S7). There is also a salvage place on the same road but nearer to town. Don't know the name but it is near the junction with Chippinghouse Road. I have used both. Sometimes you are lucky, sometimes you have to keep going back to see if what you are after has come in.
 Share this content via...
