DoctorA Â Â 10 #49 Posted December 1, 2011 I'm amazed this pub is still going. The owner sacked the manager who was the only one who had any idea about decent beer and how to run a good pub
 Share this content via...

DumDom   19 #56 Posted December 31, 2016 Can anyone recommend this pub?  This is a great little pub, it is like pubs used to be, most customers know each other. New customers are made to feel welcome. It is a real ale pub, I think it has 6 pumps on , prices are reasonable it regularly has a £2 pint on. There is food on but only on Friday's. Over December there have been many organized events from carol singing, pie & peas , these are held in a separate room so you can drink in the other room. We are in at least once a week, sometimes more. Pop in, see if you like it, you will be made very welcome.
 Share this content via...
Andy C Â Â 86 #57 Posted December 31, 2016 Now known as the Ale House rather than the Sheaf, also now under new management. Friendly community pub with some good beers at very reasonable prices. Â Its just off Archer Road, if you need to get a bus there then the 86 or 96 are the buses you want.
 Share this content via...
DumDom   19 #58 Posted January 1, 2017 Also there is a room for hire for any gatherings. It's not as expensive as other local pubs rooms for hire. I had my Mums wake there and the food and service was great. It's near the crematoriums back road entrance. Some local "groups"use the room to practice ( a ukulele group, a singing groups ), I know they have had several children's parties as a disco can also be hired. It has a bar in it but is separate to the main bar.
 Share this content via...
