Dave650   10 #2 Posted September 21, 2009 (edited) 'Parrots' are pretty good, dunno how much they retail for usually but halford do free fitting on them if I recall correctly - you may well be paying for thsi in the price though. You could buy it off the net and offer a halford lad a back hander though. I use a stereo with built in handsfree kit cost me like £30 second hand and paid a back hander for fitment. microphone quality isn't brilliant but good for what I need it for (few calls a day). Decent audio and they can actually hear you - like you say cheaper than the fine and better than the jail sentence for hitting someone while on the phone (think that's the current situation wioth the law anyway).
