Probably we are seeing a spate of stabbings and shootings these days.

Wait for the police spokesmans comment. "These 250 stabbings and shootings are isolated ones and not linked so you have nothing to worry about"

I would have thought that a new thread saying ... No stabbings or shootings today at Burngreave" would be more newsworthy.

That's a very Orwellian re-interpretation of what was said. Armed robbery is not the same a "Stabbing or shooting".
