i am wanting to do a raffle with who ever wins
they get to win a 3 tier cake 12'' 10''8''
with any design they want & the proceeds to
be split between animal rescues
but i only want to do this if i get enough people having
raffle tickets rescues can sell them for me if they like
i was going to do them at a £1.00 a strip & the cake
the person who wins can have the cake for this year or
next year
i will advertise it on my website it will be drawn in September 28th
but if the rescues are happy for me to do this i need it to be
advertised on there websites to get as much money in as possible
i don't want to do it if only makes £20.00 / £30.00 as it wouldn't
be worth doing it let me know what you think
if it takes off & dose relay well i will do one each year i don't have the
money to donate to rescues but i feel if this works i will be helping
in a way but only if people buy the tickets
peoples feedback is much appreciated

Its a fabulous idea Fabc, but not that easy to sell the tickets unless you have a bundle of tickets to sell - and then return the money to you.

You could always go along to one of the rain rescue fundraising events (shown on the front of our website), or pm mrs nix on here? I think you would be better doing a small cake for each of the rescues - it may save confusion - unless you are going to an event to sell the tickets yourself ? Sorry not being very good with ideas for you here

There is an event in Clifton park - you could get tickets and go and sit there maybe?

there is that but i have done things like this before for guide dogs
but found it doesn't make as much money as what it would
over a length of time with people buying them like i suggested
but like you say i could do that but do something like a 12 inch cake
& maybe a guess the weight or something like that ?

Hi fabcakes

As someone who is getting married next year and who also loves animals, I'd be very interested in this and would certainly buy a few strips.

Might be worth gauging interest from others in my situation by posting on the wedding interest group forum?

If you wanted to send me loads of raffle tickets I don't mind selling them at any fund raising events for Rainrescue that we happen to be at.

Have you thought of holding an auction for the cake with a reserve?

Happy to be of assistance, and for such a good cause too!

You know, if you contacted The Star, it's a local interest piece in the making too, and could bring your cake-baking venture some great publicity as well as the charity and auction itself. If you approach them, don't forget to let them know how they can bid, or buy tickets to put in The Star.

if you get enough interest hun i would be willing to offer up a second prize.

i would do a free treatment worth up to £25 as an added incentive for people to buy more tickets .
