KImos   10 #1 Posted June 8, 2017 Hi, Planning to move to Sheffield with my wife and daughters, torn between beauchief and chapeltown, the houses in chapeltown are nicer and there is a couple of good schools there but I heard some people saying it lacks diversity!! Besuchief on the other hand, the houses are smaller and more expensive. The schools are good but oversibscribed so the odds may not work in our favour. But we assume its proximity to the city centre will make it by default more diverse. Any advice? I am renting by the way. Thanks in advance
 Share this content via...

Andy1976   10 #5 Posted June 8, 2017 Royal Hallamshire  Beauchief without a doubt. Nicer part of town, better schools, and you'll be much quicker getting to work.
 Share this content via...

xsf7 Â Â 10 #7 Posted June 8, 2017 Both places have things going for them, but the house prices in Beauchief are higher for good reasons - good choice of shops/supermarkets, excellent parks and open spaces, restaurants and cafes. You get less for your money in terms of bricks and mortar but the advantages otherwise for Beauchief are massive. Â If diversity is important, I'd say Chapeltown is a non starter. onlineo   10 #8 Posted June 8, 2017 There is a hefty premium for housing in the SW of Sheffield. Bizarrely the relative premium is much smaller in the rental market than the house sales market. Personally I would choose Beauchief but it depends a lot on your family etc.
 Share this content via...
