Evening venue recommendations

We are planning to get married abroad in May 2014 but would like a party when we get back home in Sheffield, can anyone recommend a good venue for an evening reception only.

Depends on your budget really. We got married abroad in May 2011 and had a cheap and cheerful reception at Wadsley House Social Club and everyone had a great time.

They have a lovely big room, we had their DJ and did our own food & decorations, and the best part was that the bar prices were very cheap! (we went to a wedding at Whitley Hall on Saturday and it was £4.80 a pint.....nearly died! )

There's also the lovely gardens outside if you want to take photo's with the people who couldn't be there on the day.

Whirlow Hall Farm is lovely for a reception.
Aston Hall, again very nice indeed.
Leopold Hotel is nice, but the function rooms aren't massive.
St Pauls Mercure is nice and the function room is very big.
Kenwood hotel - very nice.

Those would be the top 5 I can think of at the moment (we've played them all so if you need more info, just ask).

Whitley Hall, The Holiday Inn Royal Victoria and Wortley Hall are all lovely wedding venues.

Cutlers Hall in Sheffield is a beautiful wedding venue and are exhibiting at the I Do wedding exhibition show at Ice Sheffield on 2nd Sept 2012

We got married and had our reception at Hotel Van Dyke. It was an amazing hotel and the food, even the buffet, was fantastic. All our guests, including evening guests, raved about the food.
