Grenoside

Can anyone say how safe Penistone Road [Grenoside region] is?

One of my friends is trying to buy a house there, its taking ages but her heart is set on it. Another one of our mutual friends says that the area is unsafe because of its proximity to Parson's Cross.

I don't think that's an issue - what do you think?

Don't let that be an issue.

It is close to both Parson Cross and Fox Hill ,both noted for being well, lets say not the best of areas, but Penistone Road at Grenoside is a nice part to live in and i would go for it.

You are beyond both mentioned estates and closer to Grenoside village and public transport to Hillsbrough and town is very good from there.

There are some large pricey houses on that stretch, thats the left side going up the hill and wondered if your friend had considered actually moving into the village itself which does not have such a busy road and is closer to Wharncliffe woods which is a nice walking area.

Not all people living in Parson Cross are rouges, there are still some decent folk but it does hold a lot of scum that visit other areas burgling and knicking cars but its unlikely you will be bothered by them as they pick other council areas like Longley, Shiregreen to do there crimes.

Thanks

I don't think she thought about those areas, moreso because few of those houses come on the market!..at a reasonable price

Will advise her accordingly :-)
