Robin-H   11 #49 Posted September 25, 2016 NO.........whenever my wife and I go shopping and get them in our wallet or purse, we put them into a large jar and save them. We save them in the jar and keep on building them up until the jar is full then take them to the supermarket to exchange for a cash voucher.  We did this Thursday 22nd Sept........and we had collected £16.73 5 which helped with our food bill.  If all goods were rounded up to the pound, we wouldn't have had that.  There is no reason to assume that all goods would be rounded up to the pound (or rounded up to the nearest 5p which I think is what you mean).  In some other countries goods are still priced at .99 or whatever, so it is only the final bill that is either rounded up or down.  Buy 5 and the bill wouldn't be any different at all. By 2 and you'd probably be charged 2p extra, buy 3 and you'd probably be charged 3p less.
 Share this content via...
