Probably the newsagents near the Bike shop on the corner, it was closed down a few weeks ago due to drugs and selling to under-aged etc....

I believe there was a police operation targeting the local drug dealers.

Everything will be fine when it's pedestrianised :)

If they carry on with their plans to give fitzalan square an expensive upgrade it would be very wise if they move all these low life shops and entertainment business to another location. It attracts a certain type of people that we don't want to donate an expensive square upgrade to.

Quite clearly this has started already.

Of course, has council offered the usual business and customers of fitzalan another new location to move to?

They may represent the less desirable part of society but it will be better to allow them to have their own little place somewhere. You cannot eradicate or wipe out what you see at fitzalan, you can move it somewhere else.

Isn't that always the case though ? Shifting the problem ?

Businesses such as the ones you describe will always pop up again anyway without any help from anyone.

Very true. It will be wiser for council to be in control of where this happens, better than crying afterwards they aren't happy with it.

There's always a riot van when I go past, which is a lot.

Normally when you take out multiple dealers at an exchange hotspot like Fitzalan square it can lead to supply-side violence hence the police presence.
