Raf199 Â Â 10 #2 Posted April 9, 2017 Check if the laptop and TV have HDMI connector ... If yes then buy cable and just plug them together.
 Share this content via...
Kidorry   189 #3 Posted April 9, 2017 (edited) Check if the laptop and TV have HDMI connector ... If yes then buy cable and just plug them together.  Thank you for that,I will go round and tell him.  Just been round to him and his T.V. has no hdmi socket,so that solves that. Raf199 Â Â 10 #4 Posted April 9, 2017 (edited) hmm ... we can go further that way and you can plug it with cable that has s-video or scart, but the quality will be not good. Â also not sure if that works on old tvs, but you can use something for streaming f.e. chromecast - that requires USB . (as well as the USB for power)  - if his TV doesn't have HDMI, is it an old CRT? - if so, it will be almost impossible to get the laptop on the TV....  if it's not an old CRT, then there MAY be a way, all depends on the TV and the Laptop  (need the model of each if possible)
 Share this content via...

even if it's possible ... quality will be bad (via S-video or SCART from VGA or old laptops have S-videos aswell, but it's not worthy) Edited April 9, 2017 by Raf199
 Share this content via...
Kidorry   189 #7 Posted April 9, 2017 He is in his 90s and he has difficulty seeing his laptop so if the picture quality is a little iffy on a tv then it would be of no benefit to him.Cheers all.
 Share this content via...
