Does Tim henman deserve to have the "hill" named after him

Recommended Posts

Does henman really deserve to have anywhere named after him?

Never mind a hill at Wimbledon

He never got higher than number 4 in the singles ranking

He never won a grand slam title

He never got to a grand slam final

I know the hill is officially called Aorangi terrace

But google maps label it henman hill

He is regarded as one of the best players not to win a grand slam by who?

Henman never won BBC sports personality

How did he get the nickname "tiger Tim"?

Lol when pussy cat Tim would have been better he was a loser but we Brits are always quick to laud losers

It should be called Murray mound as it initially was when Murray WON Wimbledon.....just saying...

What do others think?

Given he was ranked as high as 4th I certainly cant think of any players currently knocking around who havent won a GS who are better.

Remember that Henman also made a GS semi final in Paris as well, people seem to forget that. He also won numerous other tour titles including a Masters in Paris, he wasnt a mug by any stretch. People unfairly compare him to Murray who is just on a different level altogether.

Henman was a nice guy and a typical English loser under dog. He was a crap tennis player in world terms though but us English love a gallant failure as much as if not more than the winners.

Tim Henman was an OK tennis player but he certainly does not deserve to have the hill named after him.

Bit harsh really given he won top level titles including a Masters title. If you want to see how crap British tennis is, wait until Murray retires and then the definition of British success would be a couple of players in the top 100 and one of them getting through the first three rounds at Wimbledon, just like the good 'ol days.

At least Henman (and Murray) have elevated British tennis, will be sad days when those days come to an end.

Yes Tim Henman deserves to have the hill named after him, because he was at Wimbledon when they first started putting the big television screens on the outside areas, so the fans could see the action from Centre Court.
