Anyone sold a business?

I have had people approach me at network events offering their service. I'm aware of businessforsale, can anyone recommend anyone or a company?

I would not go to a company when it is easy doing it yourself, you just need to talk to your accountant, bank manager, and if necessary an estate agent. They should be able to provide all the help you may need.

I sold my countryside pub myself via http://www.daltons.co.uk/ business section. I had more enquiries within 1 month than the estate agents got me in 6. Saved us loads in commission, altho the agents weren't very happy with that as they tried to claw some back off us for their 'help'.

Do look hard into what's in the agents contract before signing up with agents as they can really tie you in. It's really worth trying to sell it yourself and paying for a good solicitor.

It still took 6months to complete once the solicitors got involved though.
