Paddy   10 #2 Posted June 24, 2017 If you are seeing small pools of liquid under your car when the air on is on that is nothing to worry about. What that is it just condensation build up being expelled from the refrigerator unit and it is designed to do that. The stuff that makes aircon work is actually a gas so if that leaks it won't leave any trace.
 Share this content via...
alembic   10 #3 Posted June 25, 2017 The refrigerant is a volatile gas under pressure (so liquid).  If there's a leak it vents off as gas.  A recharge includes a pressure test of the system.  This will identify any leaks.  £50 would cover most cars for a test and re-charge, except mine which has the new spec gas which costs £
 Share this content via...

The systems are filled with gas and not liquid. When it's warm you will get water coming out and is nothing to worry about
 Share this content via...
FoxhillSteve   11 #5 Posted June 25, 2017 The liquid was some kind of dye that shows up after I had a failed regas attempt by the local garage. It held the cool air for a day or so then back to hot. The garage said they don't do air conditioning repairs and to go to a specialist.
 Share this content via...

geared   318 #7 Posted June 26, 2017 If the pipe has rotted though it needs to be replaced, probably have to get the part from a main dealer though.
 Share this content via...
