I'm buying a plot of land for a few £00s.

I need a transfer doing without any if the extortionate solicitor fees.

I do not require any searches for the land etc.

What the cheapest possible/ legal way of getting the job done.

not a good idea to skimp, use a solicitor in the long run it could save you loads, should be no more than £300

Much depends on things like whether or not:

a. it's freehold;

b. it's already registered at HMLR;

c. the price is no greater than £40 0000 [above which SDLT will apply]; and

d. you're buying for cash.

If your answer is 'no' to one or more of those points, it inevitably becomes more expensive.
