Two programmes spring to mind:

From 1978 a children's drama called The Changes which was unbelievably scary. People started smashing up all electrical equipment. Doubt they'd show it today;

Hardwick House - from 1987 and starring the late Roy Kinnear. It was about a dysfunctional high school and received so many complaints it was pulled after the second episode. It was hilarious.

Guess I'd like a re-run on Armchair Thriller and Hammer House Of Horrors both of which frightened me non-stop in the late 70s.

Ace of Wands, early 70's kids programme. Sadly the tapes of the first two series have been erased and only the third survives.

Don't know if this is a coincidence, but a few years ago Stewart Lee reviewed both shows in the same 3 minute slot.

Rogue Male, starring Peter O'Toole, a BBC TV film 1976, based on the novel by Geoffrey Household

The radio version occasionally appears on BBC Radio 4 extra.

If anyone has got a dvd of the film I would like to borrow it.
